The materials
More fire than diamond. For a fraction of the price.
Moissanite is silicon carbide — a genuinely different material from diamond, and not a fake. It's slightly harder than sapphire, extraordinarily durable, and it has a higher refractive index than diamond, which means it throws noticeably more colored fire in most lighting.
If your priority is maximum sparkle for your budget, moissanite is usually the better answer. If you want a stone that's chemically identical to a mined diamond — or you want a GIA report rather than a moissanite grading report — go lab-grown. Both are on every ring in our collection.

Side by side
Where they actually differ.
Both are durable, beautiful and suitable for daily wear. The differences are real but narrow — and knowing them is the whole decision.
| Moissanite | Lab-grown diamond | |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Silicon carbide | Pure carbon |
| Hardness (Mohs) | 9.25 | 10 |
| Refractive index | 2.65 — higher | 2.42 |
| Fire (dispersion) | More | Less |

Which should you choose?
Choose moissanite if
- Maximum sparkle for your budget matters most
- You want a larger stone than diamond would allow at the same spend
- You're happy with a slightly warmer tone by default
- The stone will be worn hard, every day
Choose lab-grown diamond if
- You want a stone that is chemically identical to a mined diamond
- A GIA or IGI grading report matters to you
- You prefer a colorless stone as standard
- You want the traditional choice, done affordably
Genuinely undecided? Ask us to send photographs of both side by side in the shape you're considering. It's the fastest way to decide, and it costs you nothing.
